Slice.fi mobile appilication collects all the local and national discounts available for VYY members. Slice is available to iOs ja Androis-phones for free. Slice is the largest student discount service in Finland which gives you thousands of local and national discounts across Finland. as a member of VYY, you will get access to this service through slice.fi -app.

Students in university undergraduate programs are entitled to Kela student lunch subsidy in student restaurants on campus and all around Finland.

By presenting your student card you can also get the student discount for VR and Matkahuolto tickets.

All members of the Student Union (excl. doctoral students) are entitled to the Finnish Student Health Service.

As a member of VYY, you have access to a shared van. 

You can easily rent the van for your use in the Omago app, where you can also see the precise location of the car. 

Renting the van costs 12 €/h or 79 €/24 h + 0,15 €/km (incl. VAT 25,5 %).

How to get started

1. Download the Omago app.
2. Tap “Register” and create a user account. Remember to use your University of Vaasa student e-mail for registering.
3. Tap “Join”. 
4. Enter the joining code: VYY_2025
5. Enter your personal identity number and payment card details.
6. You will receive an SMS once your membership has been approved.

Quick guide to using the car

1. Booking a car

After registering, you can book a car in the app. From the map view, start your booking by selecting a car on the map. Choose your desired time and, if you wish, reduce the deductible. Then confirm your booking.

2. Starting your booking

When your booking begins, you can activate it from the Bookings tab in the app. Go to the car and activate the booking. The system will ask you to check the condition of the car. Perform the inspection and confirm the condition. If you find any damages, you can report them directly in the system. Once the booking is activated, the doors can be unlocked with the app. During your booking, you can use the car’s own keys, which are located in the glove compartment.

3. Ending your booking

Park the car in the university's parking lot with the park pass. You can view the area in the Omago app. End the booking, and the doors will lock automatically when the booking is closed. Leave the key in the glove compartment.
