Vappu Vuori started as VYY’s finance and administration specialist

In June, VYY's Board selected Vappu Vuori as the Student Union's new Finance and Administration Specialist. Vuori started working at the beginning of August. 

Vuori graduated last year with a Master's degree in Administrative Sciences. She is also studying data architecture at the University of Vaasa. She has previously worked for the City of Vaasa, the National Archive. She was also VYY's Vice-Chair of the Board a couple years ago.

"It is exciting to take on the role of a specialist after recently graduating. I am particularly excited to work in an organization that is meaningful to me and to work for the students' interests." Vuori describes the feeling at the beginning of her employment.

The job description of the Finance and Administration Specialist includes taking care of invoicing and payroll, among other things. She also takes part in developing the general administration together with the General Secretary.

"It's great to have someone like Vappu as part of our organization. Vappu's expertise will be a good addition to the development of our financial and administrative processes towards a more dynamic student union," says Lauri Tuohiniemi, General Secretary of the Student Union.
