VYY has started cooperation with Slice student card service

During the summer, The Student Union of the University of Vaasa has made a contract with the student card service Slice. At the same time, the cooperation with Pivo Wallet Oy for the digital student card has ended. The reason for this is the discontinuation of the Pivo application.

Slice is a Finnish service, founded in 2016, that offers a digital student card and a wide range of benefits for students. The benefits are available for companies operating in Vaasa and elsewhere in Finland, as well as for many stores online.

"The new student card application opens up opportunities to develop member services and communication. An important reason for choosing Slice was the wide range of student benefits available across Finland. The user-friendliness of the application was also an important factor in choosing the new student card service," says Lauri Tuohiniemi, General Secretary of the Student Union.

Slice student card is already available for activation. You can start using the card as soon as you are registered for the starting semester and have paid the student union membership fee. New students can also use the card as soon as they have registered and activated their student email. The Pivo digital student card will be available until the beginning of September. The application will be permanently closed on 4.9.2024. You can find information about the discontinuation of Pivo in Finnish in the article on the Pivo website.
