Vili Saarinen and Topi Lehtinen started as recruitment fair coordinators

The Board of the Student Union of the University of Vaasa selected Vili Saarinen (pictured on the left) and Topi Lehtinen as the new coordinators for Contact recruitment fair. The coordinators will be responsible for organizing the Contact recruitment fair this fall. The coordinators have started planning the fair in late summer and the project will come to an end with the event that will take place in October.

"Contact recruitment fair is an exciting project with an important mission. We are trying to get as wide a range of employers as possible to participate, so that there are interesting jobs, internships or projects for everyone", Saarinen sums up the upcoming project.

Saarinen and Lehtinen are both studying industrial management at the University of Vaasa. The duo has, for example, organised Warrantti ry's RannikkoApprot in 2023, when the event grew significantly. Both have a varied work history. To mention some, Saarinen has worked at Rinta-Joupin Autoliike and Lehtinen at HR Satama.

"Although we have no previous experience in organising recruitment fairs in particular, we are both experienced with event organizing and sales. Our work experience includes HR as well as effective sales and financial planning. So we are going into this new project with confidence," Lehtinen sums up their experience.

The Contact recruitment fair will take place in the autumn. The event was organized last time at the beginning of 2023. The aim of the fair this year is to bring employers and students together, particularly with thesis opportunities and jobs that are suitable alongside their studies. The fair will take place on the University of Vaasa campus on 23.10.2024.

"It's great to have experienced event organizers like Vili and Topi to organize the Contact recruitment fair. I believe that as students' income grows weaker, the need for students to work alongside their studies will increase. The fair is therefore a good opportunity to meet future employers," says Emma Lehtonen, Chair of the Student Union Board.
