The Student Union of the University of Vaasa (VYY) invites higher education students to answer the Student friendly city survey 2026. The survey aims to find out what students think about the City of Vaasa and to develop Vaasa into a more student friendly city.

VYY will use the results in lobbying and advocacy work in municipal policy. Answer and help us improve Vaasa! VYY is the main organizer of the survey, with VAMOK, SSHV, Justus, Novium, and ÅAS joining to collect answers from all higher education students in Vaasa.

The survey is open between 9 October and 1 November 2026. It maps out students’ experiences in e.g. housing, employment, student culture, and mobility. The survey is anonymous.

At the end of the survey, you can choose to leave your contact details for a prize draw. The contact information will not be linked to answers in the survey. Among those who have left their contact details, we are giving out five 30-euro gift cards to S-Group, five 30-euro gift cards to Wolt, a Wasaline cruise between Vaasa and Umeå, as well as free bookings for the VAMOK and Leipätehdas sauna facilities and Justus’ facilities on Raastuvankatu. Other smaller prices are also included!

VYY organized the last Student Friendly City survey in 2024. The results of that survey were actively used in advocacy work, and it gave valuable information about student housing and mobility in Vaasa.

In charge of the survey are VYY’s Board member responsible for municipal affairs, Mimmi Eskelä, and VYY’s Advocacy Specialist Elli Uusi-Kokko.

Answer the electronic survey by the end of 1 November 2026.
