Results for the Representative Council Elections have been confirmed - polling percentage was 28,15 %

The Representative Council elections of the Student Union of the University of Vaasa (VYY) were held during the autumn of 2021. The pre-election days were on the 26th and the 27th of October. The official voting days were the 2nd and the 3rd of November. The election results were published on the 3rd of November on VYY's election night.
The Central Election Commission has confirmed the election results at their meeting held today. The decision of the Central Election Commission containing the result of the election may be appealed to the Student Union Board within fourteen days of the decision being made public.
In the 2021 Representative Council elections, there were a total of 4472 eligible voters, of whom 1258 voted. The turnout was 28.15%, making it the highest polling percentage in recent years.
There were 108 candidates running in the elections in five different electoral coalitions. There are a total of 30 seats on the Representative Council, and over the next two years, the seats will be distributed as follows: Warranttilaiset 12 seats, Punavihreä Allianssi 1 seat, Kampusporvarit 5 seats, Tuttilaiset 8 seats, and Unioni 4 seats.
The new Representative Council will meet at its first meeting on Tuesday the 30th of November.
