VYY participates in a survey conducted by the Finnish Associations of Student Housing Organisations (SOA) and the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) on higher education students’ housing preferences. The survey examines students’ housing preferences and needs as well as their order of importance when students choose their housing.
VYY invites all its members and other students in the Vaasa region to respond to the survey. Respondents can participate in a prize draw for an S Group gift card worth €50.
You can answer the survey via a Webropol form. Responding takes about 10–15 minutes. You can answer the questions in three languages: Finnish, Swedish or English. The survey is open until May 17!
There is currently a need to determine students’ housing preferences, as several fundamental changes are being made to the housing benefits and incentives for students and to the systems guiding the construction of student housing. In the future, the opportunities for building student housing will be uncertain and subject to severe pressure for change.
The survey collects students’ wishes regarding the direction in which student housing should be developed in the future and what kind of housing should be built. The only way to determine this is by asking a broad and diverse group of students.
VYY is involved in the implementation of the survey by marketing and disseminating the survey to its members. The student union will receive the survey results concerning its locality, which will be helpful and a great benefit in the local advocacy work concerning housing.
