The Student Union of the University of Vaasa (VYY) elected Jenni Hiltunen to be the chairperson-designate. The decision was made at the representative council meeting on 22.10.2024. Hiltunen is studying Industrial Engineering and Management and has been a member of the Student Union Board for the past year. She has been responsible for social affairs and sustainable development.
"I am grateful for the trust I have received from the RepCo for the board formation process. I look forward to the coming month and the challenges and successes it will bring. I intend to focus in particular on cooperation with the RepCo groups," said Hiltunen.
The chairperson designate needs to prepare a proposal for the composition of the Board for next year. The proposal will be introduced and decided on at the RepCo meeting on 19 November. If the proposal is approved, the chairperson designate will become the Chair of the Board, according to the Student Union's rules.
