Project coordinators have started organising the spring events

The board of the Student Union of the University of Vaasa (VYY) selected project workers for the spring events at the end last year. Ulpu Ojutkangas and Hilja Rautpalo were recruited as the Annual Ball coordinators, and Aapo Virtanen and Eero Kiuru as the coordinators for the Boom City Appro.
"It's great to have such enthusiastic and motivated people working on the Student Union's major event projects. Their previous experience in similar projects prves their expertise. On the other hand, new people always bring fresh new ideas to our projects, which keeps our activities vibrant year after year," says Lauri Tuohiniemi, General Secretary of the Student Union.
Ojutkangas and Rautpalo are technology students at the University of Vaasa. Both have been active members of Tutti ry and participated in the organisation of Tutti's annual ball or other events last year. The anniversary project started at the end of last year and the celebrations will take place in a few weeks.
Virtanen, who works as one of the co-coordinators, is a familiar face in the VYY office, as he also works as the Student Union's Member Services Assistant. Virtanen is studying business and is also active in the Warrantti ry’s clubs. Kiuru, on the other hand, studies administrative sciences and has been active for several years in Hallinnoijat ry as a project manager and in charge of one of their big events. The planning of Boom City Appro has started in January and the event will be organised this year as part of VYY’s Wappu Crawl.
"I'm looking forward to organising a fantastic event with Eero at the end of spring for all of us students in Vaasa and also for visiting friends! I'll only reveal that this year's line-up of artists will include "I'm looking forward to organising a great event with Eero at the end of spring for all of us students in Vaasa and also for visiting friends! Let me just say that this year's line-up of artists will have a lot of variety and choice for all music lovers," Virtanen says.
Tickets for the Annual ball are on sale until Friday 31 January. The Appro project is still in its early stages, but the event date will be published soon on Boom City Appro's Instagram page. https://www.instagram.com/boomcity_appro/
