Applications for Maija Niinioja scholarships are open until December 14th.

The criteria for awarding a scholarship are as follows:
1. the applicant has registered as a full-time student for the current academic year when applying for the scholarship or has graduated less than a year ago,
2. the applicant has not previously been awarded a Maija Niinioja scholarship,
3. the applicant has completed at least 120 credits and the Bachelor's thesis was completed at the University of Vaasa or, for Master's students, at least 60 credits and the Master's thesis was completed at the University of Vaasa
4. the applicant submits all requested information to the Student Union in connection with the application.
If the application is submitted electronically, the application form and letter as well as the attachments
must be scanned into one file.
All students at the University of Vaasa can apply for the scholarship. In addition to academic success, the applicant's civic activity in the university community during their studies is considered an advantage in the allocation of scholarships. The final decision on the size and number of scholarships is made by the Student Union's representative body.
The scholarship application consists of three parts: application form, application letter and attachments. Application forms are available via the link at the end of this news, at the Student Union's service office or can be requested by email from the Student Union's Secretary General. The required attachments are listed in the application form. In the application letter, the applicant must justify why he or she should be awarded the Maija Niinioja scholarship. The format of the application letter is free, but its length should not exceed two A4 pages.
Applications must be submitted to the Student Union's Secretary General no later than Friday 14.12.2018 at 13:00. Late applications will not be considered.
Applications can be submitted to the Student House Service Office during its opening hours, by email to paasihtire@vyy.fi as a single scanned file, or by post: Vaasa University Student Union, Secretary General, Yliopistonranta 5, 65200 Vaasa.
