New project coordinators for spring events

VYY's Board has selected new project workers for the spring events in November. Lilli Kärkkäinen and Katarina Roivainen have been hired as coordinators for anniversary celebrations and Kaisla Törmälä as Appro coordinator for Boom City Appro. All three are students at the University of Vaasa. Kärkkäinen and Roivainen have been involved in the Student Union's activities in the past, for example through tutor project. Törmälä, for her part, has worked as an event coordinator for the CoMedia ry for the past year.

Roivainen and Kärkkäinen are responsible for the planning and organisation of the 56th anniversary celebrations of the Student Union. According to the Student Union's rules, the anniversary will be celebrated on the Saturday after the Student Union's anniversary, which will be 17 February 2024.

"I participated in the organisation of the 55th VYY Annual Party as a member of the annual ball team. That was the inspiration to apply to be the coordinator of the 56th anniversary celebrations. It is great to be able to bring my own vision to the celebrations and I look forward to organising the celebrations together with Lill and the team!" says Roivainen.

Törmälä will be responsible for the planning and organisation of the Boom City Appro later in the spring. Boom City Appro is an event organised in late spring that brings together students from all fields of study from Vaasa and elsewhere in Finland.

Although there is still time until Boom City Appro, Törmälä is already looking forward to the project: 'I'm looking forward to a great experience in organising the event and challenging myself with this new job. It's great to see what the project will bring and how Boom City Appro will turn out this time!" 

The new project workers' tasks will start with planning work and the projects will come to life in the spring 2024.
